Our Team


Karl Rusch, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, CMPT, COMT completed his undergraduate coursework from Quinnipiac University with a bachelor’s of science in Athletic Training / Sports Medicine. Karl graduated from Sacred Heart University in 2012 with his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. Karl’s focus is in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. Karl is a full-time assistant professor at Dominican College and came to NYSSPT to continue his desire in working with various pre and post-operative injuries.

Karl is an evidence-based practitioner utilizing current research to design a plan of care that best fits the individual’s needs. Each patient’s program is designed in a collaborative effort to reach their desired goals. Karl has worked in a variety of academic, inpatient, and outpatient settings and is an active participant in providing continuing education courses for other Physical Therapists.

Karl is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, a Certified Manual Physical Therapist, and a Certified Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapist. He focuses on a variety of manual therapy techniques with appropriate therapeutic exercise. Karl is also a Certified Athletic Trainer who specializes in sport-specific injury prevention and rehabilitation. Karl has been working towards his Doctorate of Science and is a Fellow in Training for his Fellowship of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) which is the highest manual therapy distinction you can obtain in Physical Therapy.
